PHOTOS: Chief of Army Reserve is distinguished guest at NGAUS

​RENO, Nev. -- Lt. Gen. Jeffrey W. Talley, the Chief of Army Reserve and Commander of the United States Army Reserve Command, was a distinguised guest of the National Guard Association of the United States conference in Reno, Nevada Sept. 9-12.
 
The National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS) includes nearly 45,000 current or former National Guard officers. It was created in 1878 to provide unified National Guard representation in Washington. In their first productive meeting after Reconstruction, militia officers from the North and South formed the association with the goal of obtaining better equipment and training by educating Congress on militia needs. Today, 134 years later, NGAUS has the same mission.
