LOS ANGELES, California -- U.S. Army Majors Hanh Dao, Bernie LaForteza and Carlos Yguico (not pictured), all from Los Angeles and assigned as Team Chiefs with the 78th Legal Operations Detachment, represented the Army Reserve JAG Corps as Field Screening Officers at the 29th Annual Southern California Public Interest/Public Sector Career Day (Career Day), held at the UCLA School of Law.
Over 100 agencies/public interest groups participated as prospective employers, in an endeavor to recruit over 600 3d-year law students in attendance. Majors Dao, LaForteza and Yguico conducted nearly two dozen one-on-one interviews, and promoted the Army JAG Corps to upwards of 200 students. MAJ LaForteza, recently selected as Legal Command's Criminal Law Core Competency POC, also spoke as part of a criminal law panel, recounting how his experiences as a Public Defender, District Attorney and Judge Advocate combined to make him an attractive choice for appointment as a Superior Court Judge.
