Lieutenant Colonel Adonis A. Basto was commissioned from the University of Hawaii (Manoa) “Warriors” Brigade in December 1991 as a Second Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Hawaii (Manoa) and holds a Masters Degree in Human Relations from University of Oklahoma. He completed the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course making the Commandants List and a Honor Graduate, to include the recipient of the distinguished Quartermaster Corps leadership award at Ft. Lee, Virginia. Lieutenant Colonel Basto is a graduate of Airborne and Air Assault School, resident Combined Logistics Officer Advance Course, resident Combined Armed Staff Services School, Support Operations Course, Associate Logistics Executive Development Course, resident Command and General Staff College Intermediate Level Education and the Joint Advanced Warfighting Studies.
Lieutenant Colonel Basto started his career as a Second Lieutenant, serving as the ASL platoon leader with the 883rd Maintenance Co, Honolulu, HI.
Lieutenant Colonel Basto began his Active Guard Reserve (AGR) career as the S4 for USAR-Marianas, Barrigada, Guam. Follow on assignments include S2/S3 for 373rd Corps Support Battalion, Beaumont, TX; Company Commander of the 340th Quartermaster Co, San Antonio, TX; J4 Planner, US Central Command, Macdill AFB; Logistics Officer 416th Theater Engineer Command, Darien, IL; and Operations Officer 9th Mission Support Command, Honolulu, HI. Lieutenant Colonel Basto is currently assigned as the Assistant Chief of Staff for the 9th Mission Support Command, Honolulu, Hawaii.
His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.
Lieutenant Colonel Basto resides in Moanalua with his wife, Lieuchi, and children, Amanda Lei, AJ, Meilani, Piolo, and Kacie Bei.
