Brigadier General Pete T. Quinn was commissioned as a second lieutenant through the ROTC program at Auburn University in June 1983. In March 1984, he entered Active Duty and attended the Cavalry Officer Basic Course at Fort Knox, Ky.
His initial assignment was as a platoon leader and executive officer for A Troop, 1-4th Cavalry Squadron, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.
Upon completion of his initial tour with the 1-4th Cavalry, Quinn attended Initial Entry Flight Training and the AH-1 Cobra transition at Fort Rucker, Ala. From August 1987 to August 1988, he served as an AH-1 Attack Platoon Leader in Camp Page, Korea.
After returning from the Republic of Korea, Quinn attended the AH-1 Instructor Pilots Course and served as Platoon Leader and Operations Officer, A Company, 1-14th Aviation Regiment.
During 1990, he attended the AH-64 Apache qualification and Instructor Pilot Course and was selected for command of D Company, 1-14th Aviation Regiment.
Upon completion of his first command, he was then selected to command A Compa ny, 2-229th Attack Helicopter Battalion.
Brigadier General Quinn left Active Duty in August 1994 and joined the Army Reserve.
Upon joining the Army Reserve, Quinn served in a variety of assignments to include: Medical Evacuation Officer and S-4, 5th Medical Group, Aide-de-Camp, Adjutant, and Plans Officer, 81st Regional Support Command, Commander, 429th MEB (AVN), G-3, 87th Division (TS), and Commander, 3rd BCTG, 4/75th (BCTD).
Brigadier General Quinn was promoted to his present rank May 1, 2010 and was selected as the Commander, 11TH Aviation Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky prior to be selected for his current assignment.
His military education includes the Cavalry Officer Basic Course, Aviation Officer Advance Course; Combined Army Staff Services School, Command and General Staff College, Advanced Joint Professional Military Education (AJPME) and the Army War College.
Quinn received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Auburn University, Auburn, Ala.
His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with four Oak Leaf Clusters), Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal (with one Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal, Combat Action Badge, Ranger Tab, Senior Aviator Badge, Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge and Canadian Jump Wings.
Brigadier General Quinn is married to the former Laurie L. Easley and currently lives in Blythewood, South Carolina. Brigadier General Quinn and Laurie have four children; Kelly, Sean, Forrest and Andrea.
