MG Leslie A. Purser began her military career on 25 May 1980, when she was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant into the United States Army.  She is a graduate of Military Intelligence Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, United States Army Command and General Staff School, and the United States Army War College.  MG Purser is a distinguished military graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she received her BA Degree in Graphic Art, and the United States Army War College where she received her MSS Degree in Strategic Studies.
 
MG Purser has successfully held command and staff positions at every level.   Her previous duties include Training Officer, ROTC Advanced Camp, Fort Bragg, NC; Executive Officer, Headquarters and Operations Company, S4, S1, 101st MI Battalion, Fort Riley, KS; Analyst, G2, 3rd Armored Division, Frankfurt, Federal Republic of Germany; Special Security Officer, G2, 35th Infantry Division (Mechanized) (KSANG), Fort Leavenworth, KS; Adjutant, 319th MI Brigade, Fort Lewis, WA; Commander, 307th MI Company, 319th MI Brigade, Fort Lewis, WA; Collection Management Officer, J2, Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, FL; Administrative Officer, 2074th United States Army Reserve Forces School, Louisville, KY; Liaison Officer, Netherlands Logistics Element, 310th Theatre Army Area Command, Brunnsum, Netherlands; Deputy Joint Training Exercise Coordinator, Joint Warfighting Center/J7, Atlantic Command, Suffolk, VA; Commander, 1st Battalion (Combat Support/Combat Service Support) (Training Support), 311th Regiment, 78th Division (Training Support), Richmond, VA; Commander, 3431st MI Group (Production), NGIC, Charlottesville, VA; Commander, Strategic Readiness Group, Military Intelligence Readiness Command, Fort Belvoir, VA; Chief, Defense Intelligence Support Office-Iraq, Multi-National Forces-Iraq, Baghdad, Iraq; Commander, Combat Support Agency Support Command, Military Intelligence Readiness Command, Fort Belvoir, VA; Commander, Military Intelligence Readiness Command, Fort Belvoir, VA; Deputy Chief, Army Reserve for Human Capital and currently as Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff, G-2, HQDA.
 
MG Purser's awards include the Legion of Merit with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Star Medal, Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Military Intelligence Corps Knowlton Award.
 
She is married to Joe Purser and they have two children, Jennifer and Justin.  Joe is employed by ARCYBER, and is a retired Army officer.  Jennifer is a Captain currently stationed at Fort Bragg, NC.  Justin is a First Lieutenant currently stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY.
