Brig. Gen. Allan Elliot
Deputy Commanding General, 108th Training Command (IET)
Brig. Gen. Allan Elliott is a native of Atlanta, Ga. He graduated from North Georgia College and entered active military service in 1984. After completing the Infantry Officer’s Basic Course and Ranger School, Elliott commanded a Mechanized Infantry Platoon and later served as Chief of the Light Infantry Tactics Training Committee in the 29th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Ga. Elliott also served on active duty as a Rifle Company Executive Officer and Battalion Mortar Platoon Leader for 3d Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry).
Upon completion of his active duty commitment, Elliott entered the U.S. Army Reserve and was mobilized with the 461st Personnel Services Company in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. During mobilization, he served as the Assistant Crisis Action Team Chief and, later, as Team Chief in the Fort Stewart Emergency Operations Center. In 1991, Elliott joined the FORSCOM Augmentation Unit (FAU) as an Operations Staff Officer, and later served as Chief, FORSCOM Fly-away Team and instructor for the Department of Defense Emergency Preparedness Course.
In 2000, Elliot joined the 108th Division (Institutional Training) as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In 2002, he assumed Command of the 1081st Ordnance Detachment, and in 2003, was selected to Command the 9th Battalion (Quartermaster), 108th Regiment, Decatur, Ga.
Upon completion of battalion command in February 2006, Elliott was mobilized in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and deployed to Iraq as part of the Multi-National Security and Transition Command – Iraq. Elliott’s team established the Iraqi Army Combat Arms School and he served as Officer-In-Charge until the Transfer of Authority (TOA) to the 104th Division in May 2007.
Following redeployment from Iraq, Elliott commanded the 4013th Garrison Support Unit, Bossier City, La. Upon completion of his command tour, Elliott returned to active duty in February 2009, serving as Chief of Plans, Operations and Force Projection for the FORSCOM Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4.
Elliott’s awards and decorations include: The Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Ranger Tab, Parachutist’s Badge, and Pathfinder Badge. A 2009 Graduate of the U.S. Army War College, Elliott has also completed both summer and winter phases of the Northern Warfare School, Infantry Officer’s Basic and Advance Courses, the Battalion Infantry Mortar Platoon Course, Combined Arms Services Staff School, the Joint Operations Planning and Execution Course, DoD Emergency Preparedness Course, Command and General Staff College, The U.S. Army Military History Instructor Course, and the U.S. Army Battalion/Brigade Pre-Command Course.
