The Army Reserve Careers Division and its thirteen battalions are on mission to grow and sustain the strength of the Army Reserve by providing skill-rich operational forces to commanders.   
 Over 1400 Army Reserve Career Counselors, located throughout the United States and its territories, Europe, and in the current Southwest Asian Theater of Operations with Army Central Command, provide Army Reserve Warriors - both prior service and Individual Ready Reserve transfers - to Army Reserve Units.  They also conduct reenlistments, present career progression opportunities and manage accession programs. 
Twenty-six Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Career Management (CM) Officers and 47 Troop Program Unit (TPU) CM Officers currently provide comprehensive career management to Troop Program Unit (TPU) Officers in order to facilitate career awareness, education requirements, assignment opportunities and career path progression.
Army Reserve Career Progression and Accessions Programs

To facilitate career advancement Army Reserve Career Counselors provide direction and assist Army Reserve Soldiers on becoming  Army Reserve Career Counselors (ARCC), Active Guard/Reserve (AGR) recruiters, Warrant Officers (WO) and officers thought he officer direct commission (ODC) programs and officer reappointments (REFRAD).

Army Reserve Career Management Office
CM Officers manage an assigned TPU population by rank and branch, Army Reserve Soldier plotting his course on a map.providing person-to-person career management.   CM Officers are responsible for providing career counseling, assisting with assignments and maximizing the number of educationally qualified TPU Officers.  CM Officers manages Second Lieutenants through Lieutenant Colonels  and Warrant Officers, One through Four.  The center of gravity focus is “at risk” officers lacking civilian or military education required for promotion. 
CM Officers provide professional development information through conducting Career Management Forums, the CMO Website, and the CMO FaceBook page.

1st Battalion supports NH, VT, NY, CT, RI, MA and ME.
2nd Battalion supports DE, NJ and PA.
3rd Battalion supports DC, MD, VA and WV.
4th Battalion supports KY, TN, NC and SC.
5th Battalion supports FL and PR. 
6th Battalion supports GA, AL, MS and LA.
7th Battalion supports AK, HI, WA, OR, ID, MT, WY, GU, AS, MP and AP.
8th Battalion supports ND, SD, NE, MN, IA and WI.
9th Battalion supports AR, KS, MO, and IL.
10th Battalion supports MI, IN and OH
11th Battalion supports CA and NV.
12th Battalion supports TX.
13th Battalion supports AZ, CO, NM, OK and UT.
