Headquartered in Coraopolis, Pa., the 316th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) has mission command of all Army Reserve logistical units from Maine to Pennsylvania; comprising four major subordinate commands and one direct reporting unit, totaling 89 units of approximately 8,000
Commanded by Brig. Gen. Bud R. Jameson, Jr., the 316th is the leading Army Reserve's "deployable model" for military operations around the world and is designed to address sustained military operations and missions and the nation's emergency rapid response.
The 316th ESC is the U.S. Army's first Expeditionary Sustainment Command, with deployments to Iraq from 2007-2008, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Kuwait from 2012-2013, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  When deployed, the headquarters provides command and control of sustainment units for a combatant theater commander. The 316th ESC has earned the Meritorious Unit Commendation for displaying exceptionally meritorious service while deployed.
The stateside mission of the 316th ESC is to provide mission command of Army Reserve combat service support units (logistics). In addition, the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 expanded the Army Reserve's role as part of the Federal Force, giving the U.S. Army Reserve the flexibility to provide specialized capabilities for domestic disaster relief.
