Thanksgiving Day Message from the Army Reserve Command Sergeant Major

Thanksgiving Day is a unique celebration that brings all Americans together, regardless of our many faiths and cultural backgrounds.  It is a time when we stop for a moment from our busy schedules to share food, fellowship, and recreation. It is a special time to pause and consider the many blessings we enjoy.

We are so very thankful for the men and women of the Army Reserve who proudly defend our great Nation every day with selfless acts of valor.
This Thanksgiving also finds Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen serving away from home. I know this can be a difficult time for service members and their loved ones who must spend it apart from each other. To those deployed away from home, and to their families: You are making a real difference every day to keep our country strong and safe.
This time of year, we encourage you to take a moment to remember our fallen comrades, their Families, and our Soldiers recovering from injuries, both physical and emotional.  Our country owes a great debt of gratitude for their personal sacrifices.
As Deloris and I enjoy this special time with our family, we encourage you to reflect on the blessings of the past year, remember our comrades deployed far from home, and enjoy well-deserved time with family and friends.
Happy Thanksgiving!
