NOMINATE YOUR EMPLOYER FOR A PATRIOT AWARD - EXPANDED TO INCLUDE EMPLOYERS OF ARMY RESERVE SPOUSES
The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award program recognizes employers for implementing employment policies and practices that are supportive of their employees’ participation in the National Guard and Reserve.  The Patriot Award certificate is intended for an immediate supervisor.  It is significant to have an employer who shows flexibility and support for a military family, to allow a military spouse to juggle and balance the responsibilities of being a parent and an employee, especially when his or her spouse is deployed.  Therefore, ESGR is proud to announce an expansion of the Patriot Award eligibility criteria to include employers of service members’ spouses.  Spouses and service members can go to www.esgr.org/pa to nominate their employers and to learn more.

ARMY RESERVE RECOVERY CARE COORDINATORS
Today the requirements placed on Army Reserve Soldiers and their Families demand much more of us than ever before in our careers. While serving our country, all too often Army Reserve Soldiers become wounded, injured, or ill.  To help all members of the AR work through the unique challenges associated with geographic dispersion, Army Reserve Family Programs added 19 staff members to ensure we address the needs of our wounded, ill, and injured Warriors and their Families. Learn more about the Recovery Care Coordinators.

ARMY RESERVE ENRICHMENT CAMPS
Army Reserve Enrichment Camps (AREC) are FREE week long residential camping experiences for Youth (ages 8 - 16) who are related to an Army Reserve Soldier. Each camp chosen to host an Army Reserve Enrichment Camp is accredited by the American Camping Association. Staff has been trained on issues unique to Military Youth and their families. EMPLOYER SUPPORT OF THE GUARD AND RESERVE
ESGR works for military members and their civilian employers by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the law and resolving conflicts through mediation. Established as a Department of Defense agency in 1972, ESG promotes a culture in which all American employers support and value the military service of their employees. More information is at www.ESGR.org or 1-800-336-4590.
