335th Theater Signal Command Soldiers receive highly regarded civilian award.
November 19, 2008 - Three Georgia Army National Guardsmen and two Army Reserve Soldiers from the Headquarters 335th in East Point, Ga. were honored during The Atlanta Journal Constitution's annual Army Reserve Components Achievement Awards ceremony, held at Army Reserve Command Headquarters, Atlanta, Ga.
Pfc. Eugene Richardson, 52-C or HVAC Specialist. "I was definitely surprised when I was told that I was nominated," said Richardson who has only been in the Army for 14 months.
Sgt. Terrance R. Adams, 42-A or Human Resources Specialist. "It was a fulfilling experience for me. I was proud to share it with my mother and 2-year-old son, Terrance, Jr."
The award was established to recognize outstanding enlisted Soldiers from Army Reserve (Georgia based units) and the Georgia Army National Guard. Eligibility for the awards includes exemplary conduct; exemplary attendance at scheduled drills and annual training; and consideration of leadership instructional ability. The award honors one member in each of the following grade categories: PV1-PFC, SPC-SGT, and SSG-SGM.
The Soldiers were nominated for the award by their HHC First Sgt. Rayon Hughes, who stated that they competed with over 200 Soldiers in the Headquarters alone.
