 311th ESC Chaplain 2nd LT Edward Kim gained his citizenship September 24th, 2010.  Las Vegas, Nevada—Las Vegas Hilton (August 16th 2010) G4 staff of the 311th ESC hosted a conference bringing together the Supply, Food Service, and transportation elements for all their down-trace units.  The 311th ESC held a Women's Equality Day on August 31st, 2010 to recognize the important contributions in hitsory women have made.  Selah, Washington—In the Selah High School gymnasium on September 11, 2010, members of the 737 th Transportation Company, based at the Army Reserve Training Center in Yakima, Washington, held their Welcome Home ceremony.  311th Soldiers help out at this year's Ulchi Freedom Guardian training exercise held at Fort Shafter, HI.  YOKOHAMA, Japan – The commanding general of U.S. Army, Japan and the chief of staff of the Japan Ground Self Defense Force visited soldiers of the 311th Expeditionary Sustainment Command taking part in an exercise here Aug 28.  Hours before the bright Kuwaiti sun would show itself, the Soldiers of the 469th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (Aftershock) were awake and waiting for the 4th Stryker Brigade Raiders to arrive at Camp Virginia.  Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas -- From the 22 nd through the 25 of July, Chaplains of the 63 rd Regional Support Command hosted a Strong Bonds workshop at the Wyndham Hotel here.  On Friday, August 6, 2010, the 923 rd Transportation Company was gathered in a ceremony to receive a California State Assembly Resolution presented by Assembly member Jean Fuller of the 32 nd District.  Billings, Montana — August 7, 2010 the 592th Ordinance Company which is based in Billings, is pending deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Deployments can be hard on a family, with a servicemember being separated from his or her home and loved ones for an extended amount of time, and with the risk of bad things happening, stress can build up quickly.  It was an overcast day in Huntington Beach, almost what you would expect during early July. But today, there is something else besides the weather that is garnering attention –
 On Father’s Day, June 20th, 2010, Soldiers of the 469th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB) made unit history by being the first ones in the Battalion to receive a wartime shoulder sleeve insignia in their combat patch ceremony.  MERTARVIK, Alaska -- Members of the 709th Transportation Company, now under the command of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Franky Caraska, are in Alaska for the summer in support of joint operations with the Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force Reserves.

About the 311th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary)

311th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) commands and controls units, elements and activities to provide operational and tactical level combat service support (CSS) to forces across the spectrum of operations and provide distribution management to forces in coordination with the theater sustainment command. The 311th ESC is prepared to deploy globally to conduct CSS operations.
MISSION STATEMENT
311TH ESC provides theater logistics command, control and operational sustainment in support of 8th Army, and joint distribution logistics support for joint and coalition forces in the area of operation. On order, supports Joint Reception, Staging, and Onward Movement operations in the theater.
VISION
A trained and ready Expeditionary Support Command composed of professional and resilient Soldiers and Civilians with skills and knowledge to execute forward spectrum operations warfighter requirements with the flexibility to adapt operations quickly to changing conditions.

311th ESC, Fact:
Unit Patch: The unit patch was created with the formation of the 311th Logistics Command in 1953. From the late 1970s to 2008 it was known as 311th COSCOM (Combat Operation Support Command), but in 2009 the unit became known as the 311th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary). Although the names have changed, the patch has stayed the same.
Unit Crest: The crest was created in 1970, The key, a traditional symbol of the Quartermaster Corps refers to our mission to provide. The chevron represents a rooftop and alludes to our mission to maintain. The wrench reflects our mission to sustain. The wings in the background refer to the city of Los Angeles, where our headquarters is located.
