The U.S. Army Reserve 11th Aviation Command celebrated an important milestone March 7, with the arrival of five HH-60M Blackhawk medical evacuation helicopters at Fort Knox's Godman Army Airfield.

  The HHC/6-52 AVN REGT, Joint Forces Training Base-Los Alamitos, CA on July 18th 2010 during their representation of the 11th AVN CMD in the Philip A. Connelly Competition for Excellence in Field Food Service Operations.
The 90th Aviation (Support) Battalion conducted a Change of Command Ceremony on 18 July 2010.
Staff Sgt. Heather Morrison competed in the Fort Knox Combatives Tournament during 18-20 May 2010. 
 

May 15, 2010 the 11th Aviation Command welcomed Command Sergeant Major Neil C. Heupel.

U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers tested their physical and mental capabilities in the annual Best Warrior Competition, hosted by 11th Aviation Command, April 23-25, at Ft. Knox, Ky.

 

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – Soldiers from the 11th Aviation Command and the 244th Aviation Brigade supported the 2010 Army Medical Evacuation Conference at the Edgewater Beach Resort, February 22-26.
The 11th Aviation Command welcomed its newest Noncommissioned Officers in an NCO Induction Ceremony held at the 11th Aviation Command Headquarters, Saturday, February 20.
The 244th Aviation Brigade received it’s most modern aircraft, the HH-60M MEDEVAC Blackhawk, which will provide comprehensive medical care from the injury site while enroute to a distant hospital, February 12, 2010. 
As the wind blew through a bright autumn morning, the 11th Aviation Command honored its outgoing commanding general, Brig. Gen. Matthew C. Matia, and welcomed Col. (Promotable) Peter T. Quinn in the Change of Command ceremony Oct 25 at Hangar No. 1 on Godman Army Airfield.
KITGUM, Uganda— When U.S. Army Sgt. Maj. Kellyjack Luman needed to inspect growing operations at this remote village in northern Uganda, he relied upon the CH-47 Chinook helicopters from the U.S. Army Reserve’s 11th Aviation Command, a Fort Knox, KY-based unit supporting Natural Fire 10 this month in Uganda.

The 11th Aviation Command consists of 148 Army Reserve Soldiers and civilians including 48 senior full time staff members (Active Guard Reserve) and 13 Civilian Military Technicians grade GS-7 to GS-13.  The command is responsible for peacetime management of more than 4,000 Aviation Reserve Soldiers to include one brigade headquarters consisting of four aviation battalions and four other aviation battalions direct reporting units located throughout the 14 states. 

The command is also responsible for managing the training and employment of AH-64 Apache Longbow Attack Helicopters, UH-60 Blackhawk Assault Helicopters, CH-47 Chinook Medium Lift Helicopters, C-12 and a UC-35 fixed wing aircraft throughout United States.  During deployment, the headquarters will function as a Theater Aviation Command.





Mission

The 11th Aviation Command (AC) provides Air Traffic Services (ATS), Airfield Management, Aeromedical Evacuation, Combat Aviation Brigade Reinforcement, Theater Aviation Support, and coordination of aviation staging and onward movement in order to support Corps, Army or Joint operations.  The 11th AC has two missions, which function's as both a war fighting headquarters and as a Functional Command (FC).  As a war fighting command, the 11th AC provides command, control, staff planning, and supervision for two Aviation Brigades and one Air Traffic Service Battalion.  As a FC the 11th AC provides command and control for all Army Reserve Aviation.
