Overview

7-158th Aviation Regiment is a Heavy Helicopter Battalion with units in Texas, Colorado, Kansas and California.

The CH-47D Chinook Helicopter is the premier heavy lift helicopter in the US Army. The aircraft is capable of lifting a maximum load of 26,000 pounds day or night to the most remote locations in the world. The Chinook is known as the flying logistical workhorse of the Army.

The UH-60L Blackhawk Helicopter is the premier utility and assault helicopter in the US Army. It currently maintains the highest operational tempo in the Army.

Mission

Wartime: On order, the 7-158th Heavy Helicopter Battalion mobilizes to conduct continuous heavy-lift helicopter movement of troops, supplies and equipment.

Peacetime: The 7-158th Avn Regt supports organizations and units as diverse as the Office of the President of the United States to III Corps to National Geographic. The unit does and continues to fly real world missions every day.
