New Army Reserve Command Headquarters Facility Taking Shape

August 23, 2010

FORT BRAGG, NC- As part of the comprehensive Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) strategy of the Army Reserve, the U.S. Army Reserve Command (HQUSARC) will be co-located with the U.S. Army Forces Command in a new state of the art facility, which is scheduled for completion in June 2011.  With that date less than a year away the facility has taken shape and construction is on target as shown by the slide presentation linked here.

Roughly 1,400 personnel (Soldiers, civilians and contractors) from the USARC Headquarters are scheduled to occupy the facility in July of 2011, representing nearly half of the facility’s occupants.

Some key facts about the facility and the economic impact include:

• About 60% of the USARC jobs are either government civilian or contractor, which will bring additional revenue and potential employment into the Fayetteville community.
• The new construction cost has an impact of over $300 million, with additional impact for renovation of interim facilities.
• The long term impact is the addition of almost 3,000 more full time employees to the Fayetteville area.
