First ever Sabot Academy helps prepare Reserve Soldiers for challenging master gunnery course
Army Reserve Sgt. David Scalzo, a training noncommissioned officer and native of Park Forest, Illinois, assigned to the 342nd Chemical Company, 472nd Chemical Battalion, 209th Regional Support Group, 76th Operational Response Command, uses a multi-tool to help him reassemble a MK19 automatic grenade launcher at the first ever Sabot Academy in White Settlement, Texas May 19. The four-day academy covers a variety of basic and advanced gunnery skills and knowledge, and is designed to better prepare students for the extremely challenging master gunnery common core course at Fort Benning, Georgia.
