Reserve unit debuts new ‘simulation’ tech
November 5, 2012
In this image released by the 75th Training Command, Army Reserve soldiers and contractors with the unit’s Southern Division operate a computer-based simulation training exercise in Houston, Texas, Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012. The exercise was part of an effort to demonstrate a system developed by the 75th to allow various military units to conduct certain types of scenario-based ‘war game’ training over computer networks. In this exercise, the unit undergoing the training was located in Louisiana, while one small team – pictured here – transmitted the fictional scenario via network and phone. This format allows units to train in leadership and mission management tasks with a high degree of realism, and a low overall cost. (Photo/75th Training Command, Army Reserve Maj. Adam Collett)
