Maj. Gen. Troy D. Kok, commanding general of the U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Regional Support Command (right), and Command Sgt. Maj. Al Almeida, 99th RSC command sergeant major, affix the Army Superior Unit Award streamer to the 99th RSC Colors during a ceremony April 21 at the command’s headquarters on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey. The 99th RSC received the award for providing aid and assistance from October 2012 to April 2013 to communities in New York City that were devastated by Superstorm Sandy.

The U.S. Army Reserve marked another milestone in helping its Soldiers remain a trained and ready part of the Total Force by breaking ground March 18 on a new Army Reserve Center at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey. Army Reserve command receives third straight energy award

Christine Ploschke, former Energy Branch manager for the Army Reserve’s 99th Regional Support Command (second from left), receives a 2016 Federal Energy and Water Management Award from the Department of Energy during a ceremony Dec. 7 in Washington, D.C. This is the third national energy and water management award the 99th RSC has won in as many years as it continues to support readiness by providing the best possible facilities in which Soldiers can work and train. This latest recognition follows a DoE Federal Energy and Water Management Award Ploschke and her team earned for accomplishments in fiscal year 2015, as well as the Army “Small Group” Energy and Water Management Award they received for FY14.

The trio carried out medevac and other life-saving missions in the immediate aftermath of that single-most devastating attack against allied forces during the Gulf War.

Army Reserve command trains facility coordinators, boosts readiness

The 99th Regional Support Command provides base operations support (BASOPS) to all Army Reserve Soldiers, units, facilities and equipment for the entire Northeast Region of the Army Reserve, including Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut and New Hampshire. Base operations includes personnel administration, finance, facilities management, logistics management, maintenance, public affairs and legal support.
