U.S. service members engage with Kenyan school

U.S. Army Sgt. Connor Dowd and Sgt. 1st Class Gregory Reid with C Company, 1-102nd Infantry Regiment (Mountain), Task Force Iron Gray, Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), high-five students during a cultural engagement at a school in Lamu County, Kenya, Nov. 2, 2021. CJTF-HOA’s efforts, as part of a comprehensive whole-of-government approach, are aimed at increasing African partner nations’ capacity to maintain a stable environment, with an effective government that provides a degree of economic and social advancement to its citizens.

(Dr.) Mark Cunningham, 443rd Civil Affairs Battalion Functional Specialty Team (FXSP) preventive medicine veterinarian, in support of Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), examines a donkey with a stethoscope during a veterinary exchange in the rural village of Ali Oune, Djibouti, August 30, 2020. In partnership with the Djiboutian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries, the 443rd CA BN was able to assist the veterinarian for Damerjog, Djibouti, in providing livestock care for the people in the remote desert village.
