ARMEDCOM bids farewell to outgoing commander; welcomes new leadership
U.S. Army Reserve Maj. Gen. Scottie Carpenter, left, deputy commanding general for U.S. Army Reserve Command, conducts a pass in review with Maj. Gen. Mary E. Link, outgoing commanding general of Army Reserve Medical Command, and Maj. Gen. Jonathan Woodson, incoming commanding general, ARMEDCOM, during a change of command ceremony held in Pinellas Park, Florida, March 31, 2019. The change of command ceremony symbolizes the continuation of leadership and unit identity despite the change of individual authority. It also represents the transfer of power from one leader to another; passing the ceremonial flag from outgoing to incoming commander is a physical representation of that transfer.
