ARMEDCOM: changing lives; building readiness
Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Buchanan, commanding general for U.S. Army North; joins Mr. John Sharp, chancellor for Texas A&M University; and Brig. Gen. John Hashem, Army Reserve Engagement Cell director and deputy commanding general - support at U.S. Army North; to sign a partnership agreement between The Texas A&M University System, U.S. Army Reserve Command and U.S. Army North to facilitate future collaborations using existing resources to provide mutually beneficial opportunities. The partnership signing event evolved from relationships built when Webb County, the U.S. Army Reserve and the U.S. Navy worked in partnership with Texas A&M University to provide various services to the local community within Webb County from June 19 - 29, 2017. Services provided by military personnel are done as part of the Department of Defense’s Innovative Readiness Training, a civil-military program that builds mutually beneficial partnerships between U.S. communities and the DoD to meet training & readiness requirements for Active, Guard and Reserve service members while addressing public and civil society needs.
