Reserve soldiers participate in Operation Cold Steel
Army Reserve Spc. Carlos Santos Martinez, from the 430th Quartermaster Company, based out of Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, guides his team’s Humvee during Operation Cold Steel at Fort McCoy, Wis., on March 31, 2017. The company is assigned to the 1st MSC, based out of Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, which provides mission command to assigned units of the Army Reserve in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands to ensure unit readiness to deploy to war and successfully execute their wartime missions. Operation Cold Steel is the U.S. Army Reserve’s crew-served weapons qualification and validation exercise to ensure that America’s Army Reserve units and Soldiers are trained and ready to deploy on short-notice and bring combat-ready, lethal firepower in support of the Army and our joint partners anywhere in the world.
