Army Reserve general meets with Gold Star Families in Memorial Day ceremonies

Command Sgt. Maj. Vernon Perry III, Command Sergeant Major, 85th Support Command shakes the hand of Shelby Iubel, wife of Pfc. Tyler Iubelt, thanking her for the sacrifice her husband made. Iubelt, who served with the First Cavalry Sustainment Brigade, was killed in Afghanistan on November 12, 2016. S. Iubelt said she was honored to see so many people reach out to show her and her mother-in-law so much love and support. Iubelt and her mother-in-law were recognized for their sacrifice during the Wreath Laying ceremony at the Richard J. Daley Plaza on May 27, 2017 in Chicago.

Task Force Marshall Drill Sergeant Earns Expert Infantry Badge

Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Clint Myers, a Kingsport, Tennessee native, stands with Sgt. 1st Class Eric Gordon after receiving his Expert Infantry Badge at McCrady Training Center in Eastover, S.C. on March 31, 2017. Myers earned the prestigious EIB after completing the two-week preparation course and grueling 5-day competition, which Gordon encouraged him to do. Myers started his EIB journey along with 122 other Soldiers. Upon completion of the competition, only 17 Soldiers earned the EIB, and Myers was the only Reserve Soldier among them. 926th Engineers Participate in Youth Day

The event included static displays of military vehicles, including tanks, helicopters and Romanian jets. Cpt. Rusher's attendance advances the efforts of Resolute Castle 2017 in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. Resolute Castle 17 is an exercise strengthening the NATO alliance and enhancing its capacity for joint training and response to threats within the region.

Army Reserve command teams meet to enhance readiness efforts

Julio Alvarez, command sergeant major of 3rd Battalion, 348th Training Support Regiment, 177th Armored Brigade, takes in remarks shared between briefers and attendees during a New Command Teams Orientation held at 85th Support Command Headquarters in Arlington Heights, Ill., May 19-20, 2017. The orientation gave battalion command teams and Brigade Support Element staffs assigned to 85th Support Command, but operationally controlled by First Army, a better understanding of the practices and procedures that make up the hybrid relationship between First Army and the 85th SPT CMD.

Command briefs new leaders on the way ahead for readiness requirements

Maiocco Jr., Commanding General, 85th Support Command, explains during a New Command Teams Orientation brief on May 20, 2017 in Arlington Heights, Ill. why it is so important to understand the unique partnership between the 85th SPT CMD and First Army. He shared that First Army is an “executive agent for training and training validation” in the Army. And the 85th Support Command is embedded as an operationally controlled element of First Army, and it is critical that we are synchronized to support that mission.
