Command Chief Warrant Officer 335th Signal Command (Theater)

Chief Warrant Officer Five Lawrence A. Makuakane enlisted in the United States Army in May 1997. He attended Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Upon completion of BCT he attended the 31U Signal Support System Specialist Advance Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Gordon, Georgia. In January of 1998, he attended and completed Basic Airborne Training. During his tenure at Airborne School, he volunteered and joined the ranks of the elite 75th Ranger Regiment. In October 2004, he was selected to become a Warrant Officer in the Military Occupation Skill (MOS) 254A Signal Support Technician. He attended Warrant Officer Candidate School in December 2004. His assignments as a Warrant Officer include: US Army Cadet Command at Fort Knox, Human Resources Command at Fort Knox, NATO Communication and Information Agency at Norfolk, Office Of Security and Cooperation Iraq, NATO Communications Sector Agency at Norfolk, the National Training Center Fort Irwin, 3rd Brigade Combat Team 82nd ABN DIV at Fort Bragg, 2nd Brigade Combat Team 82nd ABN DIV at Fort Bragg and his current duty assignment is with the 335th Signal Command (Theater) in East Point, Georgia.

Chief Warrant Officer Five Lawrence A. Makuakane received his BA in Business Administration Specializing in Management from Saint Leo University in Tampa, Florida in 2009, completed the Warrant Officer Intermediate Level Education in 2012, and Warrant Officer Senior Staff Education in 2021. He has completed these additional military schools: Warrant Officer Advance Course (WOAC), Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC) Distinguished Honor Graduate, Warrant Officer Candidate School (WOCS) Commandants List, Pre‐Ranger, Standardized COMSEC Custodian Course (SCCC), Local COMSEC Management Software (LCMS), TCAIMS‐II Administrator and Database
Manager, Satellite Controller (SATCOM) and maintains multiple industry certifications.

Awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Medal (2nd award), Meritorious Service Medal (3rd award), Army Commendation Medal (5th award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (6th award), Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on terrorism Service Medal, Global War on terrorism Expedition Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (1 star), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 star), Operation Inherent Resolve (2 stars) Korean Service Defense Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal (2nd award), NCO Professional Development Ribbon (2 device), Army Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon (3 device), Combat Action Badge and the Basic Parachutist Badge.

For the past 20 years, Chief Warrant Officer Five Lawrence A. Makuakane has been married to Sharon M. Huguley of Phenix City, Alabama. They are the proud parents of Lauren Makana O’Kalani Makuakane. Chief Warrant Officer Five Makuakane and his family currently reside in Columbus, Georgia. He is the son of Lawrence A. Makuakane Sr. and Lauae Fern‐Lita Long of Wailuku, Hawaii.
