Maj. Gen. Rodney L. Faulk

Commanding General, 99th Readiness Division

Major General Rodney L. Faulk assumed responsibilities as the Commanding General for the 99th Readiness Division on 30 June 2021. In this capacity he oversees the services and Base Operations Support to more than 47,000 Army Reserve Soldiers and Civilians, serving in 274 Army Reserve installations, buildings and facilities throughout 13 states in the northeastern and eastern U.S.  


Major General Rod Faulk was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant from Army ROTC in 1986 and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan University in December 1987 as a Distinguished Military Graduate. 


MG Faulk has held numerous command and staff assignments from company to division level. His first assignments include service as a Platoon Leader for the 755th Maintenance Company in Battle Creek, Michigan; two company command tours, and multiple staff positions with the 406th Corps Support Battalion in Ann Arbor, Michigan and the 645th Regional Support Group in Southfield, Michigan. 


In 2002, MG Faulk deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he served as the Deputy Inspector General for Joint Task Force Guantanamo. In 2004, he assumed command of the 785th Military Police Battalion in Fraser, Michigan, and subsequently mobilized and deployed the battalion to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While serving as Chief of Staff for the 300th Military Police Brigade in Inkster, Michigan, he subsequently deployed with the brigade again to Iraq to conduct detention operations as part of the Iraq “Surge” Campaign. At the conclusion of this mission, he was assigned as the Deputy Commander for the 300th Military Police Brigade in Inkster, Michigan. 


MG Faulk assumed command of the 310th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) Rear Detachment in January 2011, serving with them until 2013. From 2013 to 2016, he was assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) in Des Moines, Iowa, where he served first as Chief of Staff, as Acting Commander, and as Deputy Commanding Officer. MG Faulk commanded Atlantic Division, 84th Training Command at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, from May 2016 until October 2019. His most recent assignment was Deputy Commanding General-Support for First Army at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois. 


MG Faulk’s military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal and the Order of the Marechaussee in Bronze. 


MG Faulk is a graduate of the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Ordnance Officer Advanced Course, Military Police Branch Qualification Course and the U.S. Army Inspector General Course. He earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University in 1993 and graduated from the United States Army War College in 2009. His civilian career includes experience in project management and technology management with Comerica Bank, IBM and the U.S. Army.
