Maj. Gen. Miles A. Davis

Commanding General, 63rd Readiness Division

Maj. Gen. Miles Davis assumed the role as the Commanding General of the 63rd Readiness Division located in Mountain View, California, on November 5, 2021.  As the commanding general of 63rd RD, his area of responsibility is the seven-southwestern states of the U.S. this includes: California, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

Maj. Gen. Davis was commissioned as a second lieutenant of Infantry through the Army ROTC Program at Eastern Michigan University in May 1988. BG Davis has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University, and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Maj. Gen. Davis is a 3L Joint Qualified Officer and a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Infantry Officer Advance Course, Military Police Captains Career Course, Master Fitness Course, Basic Airborne Course, Combined Arms and Service Staff School, Command and General Staff College, Resident Army War College, Senior Leader Seminar, CAPSTONE, and ASEP-A.

Maj. Gen. Davis’ assignments include Commander, C Company, 1st Battalion, 330 Infantry Regiment, Commander, D Company, 2nd Battalion, 330 Infantry Regiment; Assistant Operations Officer, 1st Brigade, 84th Division; Operations Officer, 2nd Battalion, 330 Infantry Regiment; Executive Officer, 2nd Battalion, 330 Infantry Regiment; Operations Officer, National Police Headquarters Transition Team, 1st Infantry Division (Forward); Commander, 2nd Battalion, 330th Infantry Regiment; Operations Officer, 4th Brigade, 95th Division; Deputy Commanding Officer, 4th Brigade, 95th Division; Commander, 2nd Brigade, 98th Division; Assistant Division Commander -Operations, 98th Division, Chief of Staff, 412th Theater Engineer Command, Commanding General, 98th Division, and Assistant to the Deputy Commanding General – Readiness, United States Army Reserve Command, and Commanding General, 76th Operational Response Command.

Maj. Gen. Davis’ awards include the Legion of Merit with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Iraq Campaign Medal with 2 Campaign Stars, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, and the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency–Gold.

Maj. Gen. Davis currently resides in Mountain View, Calif., with his wife Karen. They have three children, Andrew, Ian and Jennifer.
