Command Sgt. Maj. Robert B. Breck

1st Mission Support Command Command Sergeant Major

Command Sergeant Major Robert. B. Breck started his military career with the Arizona Army National Guard on June 26, 1982 when he joined the 852nd Military Police Company in Yuma, Az. CSM Breck was appointed as the Command Sergeant Major over the 1st MSC on 23 March 2019. CSM Breck has held every leadership role in his 36 year career.

As the senior enlisted Soldier in the 1st MSC, CSM Breck is the Senior Enlisted advisor to the Command General.  He visits with Soldiers and their families and listens to their issues and concerns. CSM Breck takes this feedback and counsels with the Command General to develop policies that will be a positive effect on those Soldiers and the families he serves.  Taking care of Solders is the first and foremost priority with CSM Breck.  

CSM Breck began his career with the 852nd Military Police Company in Yuma, AZ with the Army National Guard. His subsequent assignments include the 1/211th Avn Bn; serving overseas during OPERATION DESERT SHIELD / STORM with the 144th Evacuation Hospital in Saudi Arabia; the 1/19th Special Forces Group (ABN); the 625th Military Police Co; and then transferred to the Army Reserve in 1997. CSM Breck was assigned to the 3 Bn / 360th Regt / 5th Bde as an Observer Controller, and later to the 651st Quartermaster Co, 650th Area Support Group and then to the 854th Quarter Master Co with a mobilization in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM .  He was later deployed to Iraq in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM as the NCOIC for the United States Army Reserve Command Logistical Team in 2004, and again deployed as 1SG for the 395th Finance Bn to Kuwait/Iraq in support of OIF / OEF.  During CSM Brecks’ 2006 -2007 deployment, he was promoted as the G4 Sergeant Major with the 104th Division Headquarters and served in that position until his appointment to Command Sergeant Major in July 2008.  He served as the Command Sergeant Major for the 3 Bn / 354th Regt (Training Support Battalion) 104th Division, he served as the Command Sergeant Major of the Military Intelligence Readiness Command, Fort Belvoir, Va, and his last assignment was as the CSM of the 807th Medical Command (DS) and the G4 Sergeant of the 807th for a short 3 months.

CSM Breck has completed all NCOES courses to include the First Sergeants Academy and Sergeants Major Academy.  

His military awards include:  Legion of Merit w/1OLC, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal w/1OLC, Army Commendation Medal w/ 4OLCs, Army Achievement Medal w/1OLC, Army Good Conduct Medal (w/two knots), Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal w/3OLCs, National Defense Service Medal w/1 Bronze Star, Southwest Asia Service Medal w/3 Bronze Stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal w/4 bronze stars, NCO Professional Development Ribbon w/4 affixed, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon w/2 Bronze Stars, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device w/2 affixed, Kuwait Liberation Medal – Government of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait Liberation Medal - Kuwait, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge. He is also the recipient of the Military Intelligence Knowlton Award. In 2007 CSM Breck was selected as the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce NCO of the year.

CSM Breck graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and undergraduate certificates in Criminal Justice and Corrections.

CSM Breck retired from the Utah Highway Patrol after over 20 years of faithful service.

CSM Breck married to the former Michelle Jones and together they have nine children, six boys and three girls.
