COL James A. Rogers assumed the role of the Deputy Commander of the Military Intelligence Readiness Command on 02 Mar 19. COL Rogers was commissioned in the US Army on 30 May 1990 upon graduation from the University of Tampa, Tampa, FL. During his 28+ years of service, COL Rogers has held numerous command and staff assignments of increasing responsibility from the tactical to operational level. . He originally enlisted in the US Army in 1986 and served with the 101st ABN Div as an All Source Intelligence Soldier.  His assignments as an officer include: S2, 1-115th Inf Bn, 29th ID, Maryland NG, Silver Spring, MD; S-2 3rd Bn 11th  Special Forces Group, Miami, FL; Commander, C Company 337th MI Bn (ABN), Melbourne, FL; Executive Officer;  C Company 377th MI BN (Linguist), Orlando, FL; C-2, Combined Forces Land Component Command, ARCENT, Camp Doha Kuwait; Commander, B Co 345th MI BN (TSB) Augusta, GA; S-3, 345th MI BN (TSB) Augusta, GA; Plans and Exercise Officer, G3 I Corps, Fort Lewis, WA; Executive Officer , 373rd MI BN (BfSB), Tumwater, WA; Deputy Commander, Theater Support Command, Military Intelligence Readiness Command, Fort Belvoir, VA; Commander, Northeast Army Reserve Intelligence Support Center, Joint Base, McGuire, Dix, Lakehurst, NJ; Deputy Commander for the 513th Military Intelligence Brigade (Theater), Fort Gordon, GA; Chief of Reserve Programs, INSCOM, Fort Belvoir, VA.

 

COL Rogers holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from the University of Tampa, a MBA from Webster University, and a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Intelligence from the National Defense Intelligence College and a Master of Science degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.  His military education includes the Military Intelligence Officers’ Basic and Advanced Courses, the 35C Imagery Intelligence Officer Course, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School (CAS3), the Command and General Staff College (ILE), the National Defense Intelligence College and the Army War College.

 

His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal,  Meritorious Service Medal (6OLC), Army Commendation Medal(2OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal,  Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Reserve Component  Achievement Medal(3OLC), National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal,  Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M device and Bronze Hourglass, Army Reserve Army Service Ribbon, Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon, the Air Assault Badge, and the Knowlton Award.

 

 COL Rogers is married to Robyn Rogers and the have 2 children, Nicole 18 and Nathan 12.
