Command Sergeant Major Gregory O. Betty

Command Sergeant Major Betty is a native of Kingston, Jamaica. He entered the Army in April 1988 and attended Basic Training at Fort Dix, NJ and AIT at Fort Lee VA.

On 20 May 2018, Command Sergeant Major Gregory O. Betty was selected as the Command Sergeant Major (CSM) of the 100th Training Division (Leader Development), 80th Training Command (Total Army Schools System). Prior to this assignment he served as the Command Sergeant Major of 1st Brigade (QM), 94th Training Division, and Command Sergeant Major of the 8th Battalion (PS) 98th Regt. In his current assignment he serves as the 100th Training Division Commanding General’s personal advisor on all matter relating to enlisted Soldiers with emphasis on a solid NCO support chain, training, safety, and quality of service.

His assignments include 1st Brigade, 94th TD, Charleston, WV, 8th BN 98th Regt, Fort Dix, New Jersey, 411th Engineer Brigade, New Windsor, NY, 1/309h Regt, Fort Dix, New Jersey, 2/310th Regt Fort Dix, NJ, 146th Quartermaster, and Fort Totten, NY.
Command Sergeant Major Betty served in every enlisted leadership position from Team leader to Command Sergeant Major. He has also served as Senior Logistics NCO, First Sergeant, and Operations Sergeant.

His military education includes Primary Leadership Developmental Course, Basic and Advance Noncommissioned Officer Courses, Total Army Instructor Training Course, Small Group Instructor Course, Unit Mobilization Course, First Sergeant Course and Battle Staff Course. Command Sergeant Major Betty is also a graduate of class 39 of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2nd award), Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (3rd award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd award), National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” device, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (with numeral 5), Army Commendation Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi) and Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait).

Command Sergeant Major Betty is currently employed with New York City Transit Authority as a Superintendent. He is married to his beautiful wife Donna and have three wonderful children: Gregory Jr (24), Ryanne (19) and Geordan (10).They reside in Valley Stream. NY.
