NEW YORK - Sgt. 1st Class Cassandra Thompson, a civil affairs sergeant with the 353rd Civil Affairs Command, and Michael Bocchini, a deputy director for the New York State Division of Veterans’ Services, engage in a community discussion during the New York City Mayoral Veterans Day Breakfast here on November 11, 2022. The two discussed the importance of establishing communication between soldiers and state veteran benefits advisors, which help command teams identify additional employment, health, and educational training resources for their unit.
