Army Reserve Medical Command Soldiers from the 7243rd Medical Support Unit participated in Ultimate Caduceus 2023 at Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington from March 4 to March 18, 2023. Ultimate Caduceus is a Transportation Command-led medical exercise wherein units from the Air Force, Army, National Disaster Medical System and local medical agencies work together to shuttle and provide care for Soldiers coming from overseas. The exercise ensures that military units will be prepared for a mass influx of casualties and incorporates non-military medical organizations in the event as their military counterparts become overwhelmed. The 7243rd used this exercise to serve as annual training, an opportunity to learn how to operate in a joint environment, and as a look at how these operations can be orchestrated from planning to execution.

Army Reserve Medical Command's Medical Readiness Training Command sent Soldiers to Fort McCoy, Wisc., to participate in Global Medic 2022 this August. Global Medic is an exercise held every year to strengthen the skills of medical personnel by incorporating training with realistic scenarios. This iteration of Global Medic was held Aug. 6-20, 2022.

Regional Medic Fort Gordon prepares Soldiers to deploy by putting them in realistic scenarios and promoting skills sustainment.
The Hospital Exercise is one phase of the Regional Medic Exercise. It is designed to be a training tool or event that can take place at any time or in any space.
Medical assets from Army Reserve Medical Command participated in the Cadet Summer Training exercise at Fort Knox, KY. Army Reserve Medical Command Soldiers cared for cadets as well as the influx of other Soldiers completing the exercise.

Soldiers from across the nation traveled to Fort McCoy, Wis., to compete in the 2022 Army Reserve Medical Command Best Warrior Competition from Mar. 29-April 3, 2022. The BWC is an annual competition that brings together the best Soldiers from across Army Reserve Medical Command to earn the title of “Best Warrior” among their peers. AR-MEDCOM 'Warrior Medics' welcome new CG amid transition to LSCO, LSMO
Army Reserve Medical Command's incoming commanding general, Brig. Gen. Michael L. Yost presents the AR-MEDCOM guidon to his senior enlisted advisor Command Sgt. Maj. John R. Hilton during the April 14, 2024, change of command ceremony held at the command's Pinellas Park, Florida, headquarters. The guidon was originally taken by Hilton from the color guard guidon bearer, representing AR-MEDCOM Soldiers, and presented to the outgoing commanding general, Maj. Gen. W. USAID trainers teach ‘Warrior Medics’ disaster response coordination in JHOC training
Army Reserve Medical Command Soldiers are participating in humanitarian mission support training provided by USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance at the C. W. Bill Young Armed Forces Reserve Center in Pinellas Park, Florida on March 06, 2024. The training prepares Soldiers to apply humanitarian service skills in Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) based missions in areas affected by natural disasters. Participants learn how to conduct aid as part of a joint task force, as well as how all the functions they would aid in from the team's formation to its dissolution. One of the training directors, Eric James, a Humanitarian Assistance Advisor to the Military, spoke in depth about the importance of this training for Army medical professionals. 

“I think it's important to know that this humanitarian assistance and disaster relief is a joint

mission,” he said “That it's part of what the DOD does. That there's a lead federal agency that is

international and we work very closely, especially around the military, to have this unique capability that can save lives.”

This type of training is crucial for medical professionals in that when disasters inevitably happen they are ready to deploy and provide necessary care as part of a multifaceted team, saving lives with maximum efficiency.
