SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii – More than 100 Samoa-based Reservists of the 100th Battalion, 442nd Infantry Regiment, 9th Mission Support Command, returned to American Samoa, June 30, after completing 18 days of training at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

SCHOFIELD BARRACKS (April 3, 2011) - Friends, families and fellow Soldiers gathered, here, Sunday, to honor the U.S. Army Reserve 9th Mission Support Command’s 124th Chaplain Detachment in a small, intimate deployment ceremony.
HONOLULU – Sixty-eight years has passed since the day when thousands of Japanese-American volunteers in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team gathered at Iolani Palace before being shipped off to World War II.

On March 28, 35 of the same veterans stood side by side with U.S. Army Reservists from the 9th Mission Support Command’s 100th Battalion, 442nd Infantry Regiment, at Iolani Palace, to recreate this historic scene, nearly seven decades later.

A significant war-fighting capability was officially added to the U.S. Army Reserve in the Pacific as the 9th Mission Support Command activated the 303rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, here, Jan. 22. 
HONOLULU – Thirty Army Reserve teens from American Samoa returned home Thursday after completing a four-day, Youth Leadership, Education and Development (YLEAD) Summit, here.
FORT SHAFTER FLATS, Hawaii -- The U.S. Army Reserve Theater Support Group and 9th Mission Support Command unveiled a state-of-the-art, multi-million dollar U.S. Army Reserve Center in an opening ceremony here Oct. 17.
In an effort to build relations and sharpen U.N.-focused, peace support operational skills, U.S. and Malaysian service members have combined their expertise and talents for an intense, one-week, command post exercise here as part of U.S. Army, Pacific’s Keris Strike 2010 exercise.

Overview
The 9th Mission Support Command is a U.S. Army Reserve Command under the operational control of U.S. Army Pacific. Headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii, our command is comprised of approximately 3,500 Army Reserve Soldiers and 160 civilians throughout the Pacific to include Hawaii, Alaska, American Samoa, Japan, Korea, Guam and Saipan. 

The 9th MSC is engaged throughout the Asia-Pacific realm, providing trained and ready forces to overseas contingency operations, playing a vital role in approximately 20 U.S. Army Pacific Theater Security Cooperation Program exercises, and providing key battle staff in support of Joint Task Force Homeland Defense.

Some of our major subordinate commands include the Theater Support Group; 100th Battalion, 442nd Infantry Regiment; the 322nd Civil Affairs Brigade; the 303rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade; and the 411th Engineer Battalion.  

Mission
The 9th MSC executes Army Reserve Command and Control (C2) in accordance with Title 10 responsibilities in the U.S. Army, Pacific (USARPAC) area of responsibility in order to support mission requirements from USARPAC and the U.S. Army Reserve Command (USARC).  On order, the 9th MSC provides contingency operations mission support to Joint Task Force – Homeland Defense as required.
